WORKS
AGAIN
2023 | 40 min | Live Performance
How do persistent disappointments and rejections impact artists and their creative output? Should resilience continue to define the artist's narrative? Is there space to express rage or find humour amidst this adversity? AGAIN delves into the profound pain and moments of insanity provoked by these cyclical obstacles, but also highlights our resilience—our capacity to dust ourselves off, persist, and even find humour in our own misfortunes.

Searching for a place of belonging. Finding newfound love for a chosen land. "nowHERE vol. 2" is a 15-minute, site-specific dance in which three generations of Brazilian woman artists reflect on their shared experiences as culturally estranged immigrants. Amok Project's lead artist Carol Mendes, dance artist Ysadora Dias, and musician Daniella Gramani embrace a melting pot of cultural influences, exploring traditional dances and music from Brazilian culture through a contemporary performance lens. "nowHERE vol. 2" is a love letter to being a Brazilian immigrant.
